The Crown Estate, managing a property portfolio worth £6.6 billion, today contributes over £210 million to the Treasury. Under our stewardship is a significant and complex estate which takes in every aspect of the land and property market, and is present in every area of the UK.
Whilst technically the land and assets are the Sovereign's property "in right of the Crown", The Crown Estate acts as trustee and makes all decisions regarding their management.
All the activities and financial results of The Crown Estate are detailed in an annual report, which is presented to the Queen and laid before Parliament in July.
Through good management, embodied in our core values of commercialism, integrity and stewardship, we are ensuring that the estate remains robust and flexible for future generations and that it will be of benefit to the taxpayer for many years ahead, creating value for us all.
