Who We Are and What We Do

We hope you’re reading this page because you’re interested in the exciting opportunities that exist in this unique organisation.

We recognise that people are our greatest resource. We strive to provide a working environment where you will be supported, motivated and developed, both personally and professionally.

We are committed to equality and diversity, and welcome applications from all sections of the community. In return, The Crown Estate can offer a generous pension scheme, 25 days annual leave and the opportunity to pursue relevant training and developments.

The Crown Estate has a unique, and multi-faceted role. We are responsible for managing, protecting and developing a vast and varied portfolio, with a value of more than £6 bn, of commercial property, shoreline, seabed, agricultural and forestry land throughout the UK. We contributed over £226.5 million to the Treasury last year.

In this we are supported by a range of corporate functions, including finance, information systems, legal, communications, internal audit, corporate support and HR. We also directly manage Windsor Great Park, together with its gardens and forest.

After over 200 years of managing lands on behalf of the Crown, the role of The Crown Estate has never been more important than it is today. We strive to remain the landlord of choice, and to be customer-focused in all that we do.

Our Challenge

We must preserve the heritage for which we are responsible and the way in which we fulfil this important responsibility is driven by the best and most advanced business practices.

This extends to enhancing the skills of our people, to working in partnership with others to enable and nurture productive commercial opportunities, to protecting vulnerable environments, contributing to communities and enabling social integration – all delivered through a lean, efficient organisation that is determined to maximised the value of the service it delivers.

Equal Opportunities

The Crown Estate is committed to equality and diversity and welcomes applications from all sections of the community. For more information please follow the link to our full Equal Opportunities Policy.
