Implementation of the Marine Aggregate Archaeological Reporting Protocol which has been developed to ensure that any historic artefacts encountered during marine aggregate operations (at sea and at wharves) are properly reported and assessed.

Study – an economic assessment of Boscombe Artificial Surf Reef, Bournemouth University

The project will estimate the net economic benefits of the BASR by establishing how much additional tourist spend its development will generate. The calculation will take into account displacement of existing tourism activities as well as evaluate the contribution that the artificial surf reef makes to business turnover, income and the number of FTE jobs supported.

Study – investigating the extent and biodiversity value of foreshore and sub-tidal chalk at Dover, Kent Wildlife Trust

Volunteer surveyors will map and evaluate foreshore and sub-tidal chalk habitats at the cliffs of Dover, which are mostly undefended and composed of increasingly rare, naturally evolving habitats and associated species.

UK Cockle Forum Conference, Shellfish Association of Great Britain

The aim of this project is to hold a one-day workshop on cockle fisheries in the UK in order to raise the profile of the fisheries amongst decision makers, managers and advisers.

Conservation project on Copeland Islands, County Down Copeland Islands, Wildlife Support Group

Co-ordinating and planning activity that will help better protect the breeding seabirds, facilitating the improvement of Big Copeland as a location for seabirds to breed and promoting the importance of the Copeland Islands as a wildlife location.
