PizzaExpress and Frankie & Benny’s were the first to open their doors to the public, with the remaining restaurants phased to open throughout the rest of November and December, offering a wide variety of dining options to visitors to the park.

The new restaurants form part of the newly built leisure complex adjacent to the popular MK1 Shopping Park, which is home to top fashion brands such as Marks & Spencer, H&M and River Island. Construction of an eleven screen ODEON cinema and IMAX with a Costa Coffee shop is also underway, which is due to open in early 2015.

The MK1 Shopping Park received three million visitors in its first year of opening and was one of the retail parks involved in our ‘Underneath the Big Green Leaf’ campaign this summer, which promoted sustainable lifestyle choices to children who visited the park.

We are the fourth largest owner of prime regional retail and leisure assets including 16 retail parks, two leisure schemes, and interests in three shopping centres.

Hannah Milne, Portfolio Manager, Regional Portfolio said: “From now until the end of the year will be a very exciting time at the MK1 Leisure Park with the opening of these seven new family favourite restaurants. The new offerings will not only enhance visitor experience at both the Leisure Park and adjoining Shopping Park, but also strengthen its position as the go-to leisure destination in Milton Keynes.”

PizzaExpress Manager Cat Devlin added: “We have a beautiful new restaurant and can’t wait to show it off to our customers. We have a friendly and enthusiastic team who are looking forward to welcoming everyone over a delicious pizza.”
