On the opening weekend, thousands of visitors flocked to Northamptonshire’s newest shopping and leisure destination as Rushden Lakes hosted a weekend of activities and experiences, including Silent Cinema on the Lake. The Rushden Lakes Weekender marked the changing of the seasons and celebrated Robert Goddard being the latest retailer to open its doors.

With its new store, Robert Goddard has brought its hallmark premium fit out to Rushden Lakes, creating a luxurious retail experience which includes quality menswear and womenswear, formal wear and formal hire.

The store offers a host of big name brands, including Hugo Boss, Lyle & Scott, Replay, Armani Jeans, Ted Baker and Loake. It was opened by entrepreneur-owner Oliver Tookman and visitors were treated to a free in-store prosecco bar, photobooth and stylist sessions.

The Rushden Lakes Weekender offered three days of free events, which included free fashion and stylist pop-ups, and professional beauty advice to get shoppers ready for autumn/winter, as well as tote bag personalisation station and pond dipping hosted by The Wildlife Trusts.

The lakes, which are at the heart of Rushden Lakes, became the stunning backdrop for the centre’s first-ever Silent Cinema on the Lake. Visitors enjoyed screenings of family films, with free popcorn, hot chocolate and waffles.

Mike Bell, Senior Asset Manager at The Crown Estate, said: “We are delighted to welcome Robert Goddard, and their beautiful new store design, to Rushden Lakes. Robert Goddard have created a luxurious new home that will appeal to their legions of dedicated shoppers in the region.

“This weekend was about celebrating the wealth of experiences that are on offer at Rushden Lakes and giving our valued visitors more reasons to come back to shop, eat and explore. Our wonderful location provides a uniquely great space to host events such as our silent cinema. Every activity on offer is carefully considered to ensure that it’s sensitive to the surroundings and wildlife, as well as providing the kind of exceptional experience that our visitors have already come to expect from Rushden Lakes.”
