The Crown Estate has presented an update on potential new offshore wind leasing to the Offshore Wind Industry Council (OWIC), a senior Government and industry forum. This follows its announcement in November 2017 that it would be considering a process for awarding new seabed rights in the waters off England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

We have today announced that we will be working with the offshore wind sector and stakeholders to consider making new seabed rights available to offshore wind developers. The Crown Estate is responsible for managing the seabed around England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
