THE CROWN ESTATE SUSTAINABILITY REPORT WINS NATIONAL RECOGNITION

The Crown Estate’s 2009 sustainability report has been recognised in this year’s Building Public Trust awards. Sponsored by PricewaterhouseCoopers, the awards recognise distinction in corporate reporting in three categories: FTSE 100, FTSE 250 and public sector.
The Crown Estate has won the public sector category: ‘Recognition for "Excellence in Reporting" in the Public Sector’.
The judges praised The Crown Estate’s 2009 Sustainability report, commenting: "Very clear use and monitoring of key performance indicators, with reporting of The Crown Estate’s sustainability strategy and impacts linked clearly to its divisions and operational functions. Solid environmental reporting presented in an accessible and visually striking way."
John Lelliott, Director of Finance at The Crown Estate, commenting on the award, said: “It is an undoubted privilege to win this award, especially against such other notable entrants. Our sustainability report was the result of a team effort, including the invaluable input from our partners Upstream Sustainability Services, and I congratulate everyone who contributed.”
This latest endorsement comes right on the heels of The Crown Estate winning two other national awards in the past month, including the Building Public Trust awards equivalent for annual financial reporting excellence, plus the Estates Gazette award for National Property Company of the Year (Retail & Leisure).
John Lelliott, Director of Finance, was presented with the award at the official ceremony on 21 October 2009.
The award was presented in association with the National Audit Office.
