STARRY, STARRY NIGHT – FIRST EVER JERMYN STREET CHRISTMAS LIGHTS SWITCH-ON

The celebrated electric violin duo, Fuse, starring Linzi Stoppard and Ben Lee, led the first ever switch-on of the Jermyn Street Christmas lights on 12 November.
Fuse gave a live performance before and after the switch-on as the classically-trained musicians created an electric atmosphere and flicked the switch to illuminate a series of magical reflective stars.
There is also in place a stunning 15 ft high Christmas tree donated from Windsor Great Park by The Crown Estate, located outside St James’s Church.
Jermyn Street is a world renowned shopping street offering quintessential British style in the heart of St James's, London, SW1. On the launch night Jermyn Street carol singers performed for customers whilst in-store raffles and prize draws brought a fun edge to highlight Jermyn Street’s unrivalled heritage. Many shops offered special incentives and noble craftsmen demonstrated their skills as a reminder of the street’s impeccable credentials as being one of the first quarters of British style.
Some of London’s specialist retailers are housed in Jermyn Street such as Geo. F. Trumper, the traditional gentlemen's barber still practicing wet shaves, hair-cuts and chiropody; and Paxton & Whitfield, selling specialist cheeses, fine foods and quality wines, which has been located in Jermyn Street for well over 100 years. Fortnum & Mason; London’s premier luxury department store, dating back to 1707, is situated between Jermyn Street and Piccadilly.
There are a fine selection of men’s clothiers such as Hilditch & Key, Alfred Dunhill and Roderick Charles, with many carrying womenswear lines too such as Charles Tyrwhitt, DAKS, Favourbrook, Hawes & Curtis, New & Lingwood and T.M. Lewin & Sons.
The St James’s area also offers the discerning shopper a fabulous selection of cafés, bars and restaurants too such as David Britton at The Cavendish, Fortnum & Mason, Franco's, Getti, Green's Restaurant, Quaglino's, Rowley's Restaurant, Sofitel St James London, The Ritz London, Wiltons Restaurant.
