Press Release

FIRST NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC FLAGSHIP STORE IN THE WORLD TO OPEN ON REGENT STREET

8 June 2007

National Geographic has signed a 15-year pre-let with The Crown Estate for 1,860 sq.m (20,000 sq. ft) of prime retail-space at 83-97 Regent Street.

David Shaw, The Crown Estate, Head of Regent Street Strategy, said: “National Geographic is synonymous with quality, heritage, style and success, making it an ideal partner for The Crown Estate on Regent Street.”

Points of note:

  • one of Regents Street’s most significant lettings, this comprises part of The Crown Estate’s W1 development and represents the first piece in the jigsaw of our Quadrant development;
  • National Geographic is an ideal world brand to anchor the southern end of Regent Street and it will act as a destination store, generating substantially increased foot-flow down the street;
  • the store will be spread over three levels and will be located at the southern end of the Street on the west side;
  • a Milan design consultancy drawing up the final blueprint that incorporates a huge glazed frontage;
  • CB Richard Ellis acted on behalf of The Crown Estate to secure the letting.
