BRITISH GROWERS OFFERING SPECIALIST AND RARE VARIETIES OF PLANTS AT SAVILL GARDEN PLANT FAIRS

24 April 2008

Prestigious specialist nurseries, many of whom are exhibitors at Chelsea and Hampton Court, will be offering a wide range of unusual plants for sale not widely available elsewhere at plant fairs being held at The Savill Garden on Saturday 10 May and Saturday 30 August from 10am to 5pm.

At the first plant fair on 10 May, the varieties of plants on sale include herbs, alpines, clematis and herbaceous plants. Nurseries specialising in herbaceous plants include Rotherview Nursery, Usual & Unusual and Hardy’s Cottage Garden Plants; Desirable Plants will be showing epimediums; and Norfield Nurseries will be showing Japanese maples. Some of the nurseries are not usually open to the public and the plant fairs will provide a rare opportunity to ask dedicated specialists about their plants and for advice.

The plant fairs will be held in The Savill Garden car park and admission to them is free. Car park charges apply – the first 90 minutes is free and thereafter £1 per hour.

The Savill Garden is part of The Royal Landscape, which also includes the Valley Gardens and Virginia Water. It is one of England’s finest woodland and ornamental gardens with over 35 acres of trees, shrubs, ponds and streams, lawns, meadows and formal areas which are home to a unique range of decorative plants.
