TARBERT YOUNGSTERS GET A TASTE OF LIFE AT SEA THANKS TO THE CROWN ESTATE

26 May 2009

Spectators at the Brewin Dolphin Scottish Series had the opportunity to take to the ocean themselves, thanks to sponsorship from The Crown Estate.

Youngsters in Tarbert got an introduction to kayaking, canoeing and dinghy sailing under the supervision of Oban-based social enterprise Stramash – with encouragement on hand from Olympic sailing champion Shirley Robertson. The sessions, which took place on Saturday and Sunday (23 and 24 May), were organised by Tarbert Enterprise Company and sponsored by The Crown Estate, who gave £3,000 in funding to the weekend’s events.
