Press Release
2008 PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION LAUNCHED BY THE ROYAL LANDSCAPE
31 March 2008
The Royal Landscape Photography Competition will be launched on 1 April 2008, following the success of last year’s event. The winning and highly commended images will be given the opportunity to be displayed in an exhibition in The Savill Building in the autumn.
The competition is open to both amateurs and professionals and will be judged under two categories – Enthusiast (adults aged 17+) and Young Photographer (up to 16 years old). Each category has a theme which is ‘architecture in nature’ for the Enthusiast and ‘birds, bees and trees’ for the Young Photographer. The themes can be interpreted in many ways and should capture any aspect of The Royal Landscape and the surrounding area broadly or in detail.
The Royal Landscape’s Marketing Manager Catherine Corrigan said: “Following the success of last year’s photography competition, we are keen to run the competition again in 2008. There are so many elements to The Royal Landscape and past experience has shown that participants always come up with fantastic surprises”.
The competition will run from 1 April to 30 June 2008, and the winners will be announced in the autumn. The judging panel will include Philip Everett, Deputy Ranger, Windsor Great Park, professional photographer Warwick Sweeney and The Royal Landscape Marketing Manager Catherine Corrigan.
