DAVID SHAW, HEAD OF REGENT STREET STRATEGY AND DEVELOPMENT AT THE CROWN ESTATE, AWARDED MAYFAIR TIMES PROPERTY PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR
13 March 2008
David Shaw, Head of Regent Street Strategy and Development at The Crown Estate, was last night honoured in the inaugural Mayfair Times Personality of the Year Awards.
He was awarded the Mayfair Times Property Personality Award for his role leading the team responsible for the transformation, starting in 2002, of Regent Street, described recently by commentators as, “the new black.”
This regeneration has led to over 500 new businesses being attracted to the street through a combination of the development of modern space and a focused repositioning.
David Shaw has led 12 overseas marketing trips which have resulted in retailers new to the UK choosing Regent Street including Apple, Banana Republic & Desigual. Regent Street has become corporate office home for Kaupthing, Matrix and Al Gore’s Generation.
David said of the award: “I am delighted to accept the Mayfair Times’ Property Award on behalf of the over 250 people who have worked with us, over the last few years, to deliver the vision for Regent Street as a place of quality, heritage, style and success. I would like to pay a special tribute to The Crown Estate retail team without whom none of our success would have been possible.”
This award comes on the back of Shaw being recently named in Drapers magazine, as one of UK top 100 most influential people in fashion. He also is Deputy Chairman of The New West End Company.
