THE CROWN ESTATE ADVISORS COMPLETE HEALTH AND SAFETY REVIEW

6 September 2006

Sypol, having recently been appointed as health and safety advisors, have completed their first brief - a review of The Crown Estate internal health and safety management system.

Gaining a complete understanding of The Crown Estate and its operations was essential if accurate conclusions were to be reached. To ensure this Sypol conducted a thorough examination of the existing health and safety management system, visiting all major Crown Estate locations. This has resulted in several major recommendations pointing towards a more efficient management system for the organisation.

Sypol has recommended a modern approach in which it, as external advisors, will work with The Crown Estate Sypol to facilitate a culture change, with an emphasis on line managers taking more responsibility for health and safety.

Mal Dillon, The Crown Estate’s Head of Corporate Support, said: “The health and safety of our people is taken very seriously and is a key part of our Corporate Responsibility targets and performance review. Working with Sypol will enable us to engender a culture in which everyone in the organisation understands and is committed to the role they have to play to ensure we meet our legal, moral and business performance objectives with regard to health and safety.”

Sypol was appointed by The Crown Estate in 2006 following a fundamental review of what the best way was to develop its health and safety strategy in order to support its business objectives and corporate responsibility targets.
