Press Release
REGENT STREET IS A VIP AGAIN
20 November 2007
The corner of Regent Street and Oxford Street has simply got to be one of the most difficult places to manoeuvre around in London. Trying to squeeze yourself and your shopping between hundreds of people all clamouring to reach the same destination is enough to make the calmest person fraught.
Thankfully however, Christmas doesn't have to leave you with a headache... Plan to do most of your shopping on 1 December 2007 in theWest End, and it will be a pleasure!
December 1 in the West End is VIP day― Very Important Pedestrians, with road traffic banned from the area for the whole of the day. Oxford Street, Bond Street and of course, Regent Street, all take part in this event, with many retailers taking full advantage of having the streets all to themselves.
So what can shoppers expect from Regent Street on the day? The answer is freebies, competitions and discounts galore. Among participating retailers is Aquascutum, who will not only be offering 10% discount on the day, but have recruited a jazz band to play in store.
Other retailers intent on making this an extraordinary day of shopping, include Frey Wille, who will be offering in store massages, in addition to a 10% discount also. Gerry Weber will be serving Gluhwein and Christmas cake throughout the day and Penhaligons will also be providing hand massages along with perfume sampling, drinks and canapés and gift wrapping.
One to watch out for will be the Marionette puppet show in Hobbs window, using puppets inspired by fashion icons such as Vivienne Westwood. Catch the shows at 1pm and 2pm, keeping warm in the cold by helping yourself to the free sake at Cocoon.
Further details can be found on the Regent Street Online and New West Company websites.
