How do I report a repair?

If you need a repair to your Crown Estate home, please call our repairs service on:

0800 783 7496

The Crown Estate acts by analogy with the repairing provisions contained within Section 11 of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985. In broad terms these make the landlord responsible for the majority of internal and external repairs, apart from internal décor and certain other minor repairs.

The repair responsibilities of both The Crown Estate and those of our rented tenants are set out in the Tenancy Book, which is issued at the time of letting.

Please note that re-glazing broken windows, unless damaged by the direct action of a Crown Estate operative, is a responsibility of the tenant to put right. For further information please call your local estate office or consult the Tenancy Book.
