We are out in force at Coastal Futures 2015 conference, manning a stand and showcasing some of the recent publications.
Coastal Futures is an independently run conference bringing together policy makers, regulators and stakeholders interested in marine and coastal environments. We are often called upon to play an active part in developing the programme and over the years have provided many speakers and chairs.

The Crown Estate has completed the construction of a £325,000 flood defence wall at Hawkins Point, Sunk Island to protect the areas high grade agricultural land from flooding.

Portgordon Harbour Works Underway

Reinstatement works to the East Pier of Portgordon Harbour in Moray are underway. The completion date is likely to be early February 2015, allowing for the workers’ festive break and dependent on weather conditions. We will continue to keep the community informed of any further developments regarding the future of the harbour.

More than 14,000 visitors used The Crown Estate’s mountain bike trails on the Glenlivet Estate in the first year of operation since they were officially opened last November by Richard Lochhead MSP.

A herd of goats residing on Hopcott Common, to the south of Minehead, have been helping our team at Dunster enhance a 2.5ha area of heathland, designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) by Natural England, by grazing their way through tonnes of unwanted vegetation.
Partnering with the Moredun Foundation

This November we are partnering with the Moredun Research Institute to hold an animal health roadshow for our tenants and farming partners at Glenlivet and Fochabers. The Moredun Foundation is committed to promoting animal health and welfare through research and education and will help support livestock businesses on our estates.
