Progressing strategic land opportunities is a key focus for our business and each year we bring forward sites through the planning process before offering them to market.
Our agricultural interests include both livestock and arable farming, covering around 106,000 hectares across the UK, and common land principally in Wales.
The portfolio includes around 10,000 hectares of forestry, principally in Somerset and Moray. The majority is actively managed but around 4,000 hectares is leased to the Forestry Commission.
The total area where we own the rights to extract minerals covers some 115,500 hectares, but the large majority is not actively worked. Actual operations include 34 lettings.
We work in partnership with many organisations to encourage growth in the visitor economy across the UK from the Highlands of Scotland to Exmoor in Somerset.
We are one of the UK’s largest rural and coastal landowners, managing and investing in around 138,000 hectares (340,000 acres) of agricultural land and forests, residential and commercial property, mineral rights and renewable energy. How is the portfolio performing?
