Sustainability Governance

In order to achieve our goal of continuous improvement, we have a governance structure in place to manage our commitment to sustainability and to monitor our progress against the long term and annual commitments that we set ourselves. In accordance with our new sustainability strategy (to be launched in the autumn) we will develop a series of champions’ network groups (reporting to the sustainability committee) which will take responsibility for ensuring sustainability is embedded in the business. The creation of these working groups will help to engender a greater degree of ownership for our sustainability strategy across the business and will also ensure a co-ordinated approach to the achievement of our long term targets.

The sustainability committee meets at least quarterly to monitor progress against targets and to take decisions on sustainability strategy generally. It, in turn, reports to the main board as required but at least once a year.
