Aquaculture Rent Review

A wholesale review of aquaculture rents has been carried out this year. An independent panel of experts was commissioned by The Crown Estate to review both the basis for calculation (which has remained unchanged for nearly 20 years) and the level of rent. They were also asked to propose a system which was simpler and more transparent. The new arrangements draw on the experience and expertise of the expert panel following extensive consultation with the industry.

The new formula allows companies to prepare longer term rental budgets, increasing both confidence and certainty and is much simpler, removing the link to market price.
