Urban Property Management Awards
The property management awards are aimed at recognising outstanding contributions to the management of the urban portfolio by our managing agents. Nominations are sought for those below director/partner level who have implemented innovative products or services, introduced new customer service initiatives or demonstrated sound environmental practices.
The winners this year were:
Peter Williams (Cluttons), Estate Manager at Kensington Palace Gardens and Palace Green.
Peter liaises closely with tenants, diplomats and the security services to ensure the roadway is secure and is run with the utmost efficiency. Since it is a private roadway, all services such as waste collection, traffic management and security are managed by Peter on our behalf.
Peter took the initiative to introduce a waste recycling scheme and alternative disposal of waste other than landfill. He has introduced this to tenanted, long lease and embassy properties. Other recent environmental initiatives include introducing a daily removal of leaves on the roadway which are disposed of in a local composting scheme rather than burnt off on landfill sites; initiating the installation of solar panels on parking ticket machines to reduce electricity consumption, and sourcing Christmas trees from regeneration forests.
Allison Connick (CB Richard Ellis UK – CBRE), responsible for health, safety and environmental matters.
Allison worked to raise CBRE’s foundation level environmental performance index (EPI) score from 45% in July 2006 to 96% by April 2006 (the EPI is a bespoke environmental benchmark for our managing agents). She has been active in seeking external advice on energy efficiency (CrownGate shopping centre achieved a 7.1% saving on electricity consumption in 2006/07); relating energy consumption to business activity and providing advice and information to our tenants.
