Sustaining communities

Our activities have a direct influence on many communities by supporting employment and helping develop future economic activity, such as residential and commercial property and the UK renewable energy industry. In addition to benefits from our core activities, we support specific funds, local groups and projects designed to enhance the quality of life in local communities.

We believe that working for mutual benefit in this way is essential for the long-term success of our business, not only by supporting communities in need but also by helping us retain tenants and increase the value of our portfolio.

 

Our approach

Our approach is to work constructively in partnership with communities in and around our core holdings with particular emphasis on three focus areas identified as relevant to our business strategy and where we believe we can make a difference to local communities. Our overarching aim is to promote positive community relations and community investment in each of our 'Triple E' focus areas:

  • Education - supporting appropriate educational initiatives
  • Enterprise development - helping to create lasting jobs
  • Estate access and experience - enhancing the experience of visiting, living and working on our estate

Enterprise development

Estate access and experience

On our urban and rural estates we are active in the development, and major refurbishment of, a number of buildings. But we are also active in improving the public realm - public space within, and around, our holdings.
