Working together

The diversity of our activities means that we work together with a tremendous range of internal, local, regional and national stakeholders, balancing different and occasionally conflicting interests. We recognise that we have a responsibility to act in a way that demonstrates we can be trusted today and over the long term.

Our 'working together' champions group strives to ensure that we build open, transparent and mutually beneficial relationships over the long term with employees, customers, suppliers, and wider stakeholders. By looking across our relationships with all stakeholder groups, the champions group works to promote a distinctive and coherent approach to engagement.

Our approach

We strive to ensure that we build open, transparent and mutually beneficial relationships with all our stakeholders.

We work together with:

Employees

We strive to create a working environment that instils pride and fulfilment. This commitment is demonstrated in our accreditation to the Investors in People standard (IIP) and achievement of 'one to watch' status in The Sunday Times' 100 Best Companies to Work For.

Customers

Providing quality service, choice and flexibility: We aim to deliver excellent customer service at all times. Find out more about our new customer standards. To date over 95 per cent of employees have participated in customer standards workshop.

Suppliers

Building relationships which create value for us and for the wider market: We work with our suppliers and agents to integrate sustainability into our supply chain. We set expectations, hold regular forums to share best practice, and monitor progress as part of our Environmental Performance Index process.

Wider stakeholders

Ensuring we are good people to do business with: We value the views of stakeholders; empathise with their objectives and work to engage with them in many ways - whether consulting over the designation of woodland as a Forest Park or the upgrade of properties.
