Huub den Rooijen
Director of Energy, Minerals and Infrastructure
Huub joined in 2012 as Head of Offshore Wind and was appointed as Director of Energy, Minerals and Infrastructure in November 2015.
Huub continues to lead the offshore wind team in addition to overseeing ocean energy, marine aggregates, carbon capture and storage, and infrastructure including cables and pipelines.
Huub has worked in the renewable energy sector with Shell Renewables since the late nineties, where he was responsible for its first offshore wind projects. He was Director for the Shell joint venture that developed the first offshore wind farm in the Netherlands, and thereafter worked with UK consultants PMSS. Prior to moving to renewables, he worked with Shell in oil and gas in The Hague, Houston and London.
He holds a degree in astrophysics from Utrecht University in the Netherlands.
