St James's Market welcomes Urban Tea Rooms

Urban Tea Rooms is set to open a new flagship site in the £400m landmark destination, St James’s Market, developed by The Crown Estate and Oxford Properties.

It will bring its modern take on the traditional English tea room with smart all-day café dining, having firmly established itself as a favourite among local offices and shoppers in the West End. London coffee ‘Allpress’ and loose-leaf teas will be served to take-away or eat in, alongside the best in organic, British produce; including freshly-made salads, soups, sandwiches, handmade cakes and artisanal baking.

Urban Tea Rooms is the latest operator to join St James’s Market, which will have seven new restaurants in total. These include the internationally acclaimed Nordic restaurant, Aquavit; a new Danish bakery from Ole and Steen; and the recently opened Japanese Anzu and Salt Yard Group’s Veneta.

The scheme builds upon The Crown Estate’s wider £500m investment strategy for its St James’s portfolio, which includes re-establishing this historic district as a destination for the best in international cuisine, such as Milos, Chutney Mary, Chiccetti and Café Murano.

Their blend of high quality teas and coffee with the best in British and organic produce will perfectly complement the mix of bespoke eateries at St James’s Market, with something for everyone and all occasions in this new culinary destination.”
