We work closely with our farmers to ensure the long-term sustainability of the land they manage.

Our Rural portfolio extends to over 185,000 acres of tenanted farms in England and upland commons in Wales.

We work closely with our farmers to ensure the long-term sustainability of the 121,000 acres of land they manage on 28 estates across England.

We have set out an ambitious new rural strategy to work in partnership with our farming community to become a model of large-scale, sustainable, diversified and integrated agricultural and environmental best practice.

We are committed to preserving and enhancing our rural land for farming, leisure, nature and climate resilience, with initial plans underway to establish over 1,000 acres of new woodlands and 100 miles of new hedgerows by 2025.

We continue to work closely with our farmers to better understand soil health and management techniques, and are introducing new tenancy agreements reflecting regenerative farming principles to help pivot the rural portfolio to net zero by 2030.

Alongside protecting and enhancing our rural assets, we see this as being fundamental in helping our farmers thrive and to safeguard their livelihoods for future generations.
