Application for an offshore floating wind test and demonstration project known as the White Cross Floating Wind Project 65km South of Milford Haven, South Pembrokeshire

The Crown Estate has received an application from Offshore Wind Limited under The Crown Estate’s  offshore wind test and demonstration opportunity for seabed rights to develop the White Cross Floating Wind Project with an electricity generating capacity of 100MW.

The application satisfies The Crown Estate’s eligibility and evaluation criteria for its offshore wind test and demonstration opportunity.  

The next stage of the application is the need for The Crown Estate to undertake a plan-level Habitats Regulation Assessment (HRA) to assess the possible impacts of the project on protected marine habitats.

Subject to the outcome of the HRA, Offshore Wind Limited could then be granted an agreement for lease by The Crown Estate to develop its project.

Application for two separate offshore floating wind test and demonstration projects known as Llŷr 1 and Llŷr 2 Floating Wind Projects 42km South of Milford Haven, South Pembrokeshire

The Crown Estate has received an application from Floventis Energy Limited under The Crown Estate’s offshore wind test and demonstration opportunity for seabed rights to develop the Llŷr 1 and Llŷr 2 Floating Wind Projects, each testing different technology with an electricity generating capacity of 100MW.

The application satisfies The Crown Estate’s eligibility and evaluation criteria for its offshore wind test and demonstration opportunity.

The next stage of the application is the need for The Crown Estate to undertake a plan-level Habitats Regulation Assessment (HRA) to assess the possible impacts of the projects on protected marine habitats.

Increase of the capacity of the East Anglia ONE North offshore wind farm - 15 November 2021

East Anglia ONE North Limited is the tenant of an offshore wind site off the coast of East Anglia known as the East Anglia ONE North offshore wind farm.

East Anglia One North Limited has requested an increase in the capacity of the site from 800 MW to 950MW.

The proposed capacity increase would be achieved through improvements in turbine technology, and would not require any additional offshore or onshore infrastructure beyond that already under planning consideration, or increases to the project footprint.  

The Crown Estate has considered the request and proposes to agree to the increased capacity.

Increase of the capacity of the East Anglia Two offshore wind farm - 15 November 2021

East Anglia Two Limited is the tenant of an offshore wind site off the coast of East Anglia known as the East Anglia Two offshore wind farm.

East Anglia Two Limited has requested an increase in the capacity of the site from 900 MW to 980 MW.

The proposed capacity increase would be achieved through improvements in turbine technology, and would not require any additional offshore or onshore infrastructure beyond that already under planning consideration, or increases to the project footprint.  

The Crown Estate has considered the request and proposes to agree to the increased capacity.

Increase of the capacity of the East Anglia Three offshore wind farm - 15 November 2021

East Anglia Three Limited is the tenant of an offshore wind site off the coast of East Anglia known as the East Anglia Three offshore wind farm.

East Anglia Three Limited has requested an increase in the capacity of the site from 1400 MW to 1480  MW.

The proposed capacity increase would be achieved through improvements in turbine technology, and would not require any additional offshore or onshore infrastructure beyond that already under planning consideration, or increases to the project footprint.  

The Crown Estate has considered the request and proposes to agree to the increased capacity.

Extension to option period of a floating wind demonstration agreement for lease for the Blyth Offshore Demonstrator Site at Blyth, Northumberland

Blyth Offshore Demonstrator Limited is the tenant under an option agreement of the Blyth Offshore Demonstrator Site at Blyth, Northumberland.

Blyth Offshore Demonstrator Limited has requested an extension to the option period in its agreement from 30 September 2022 to 31 July 2024. The Crown Estate has considered the request and proposes to agree to the option period extension.
