THE CROWN ESTATE BUYS THE TABLEY ESTATE FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF MANCHESTER

The Crown Estate has today announced the purchase of the historic Tabley estate in Knutsford, Cheshire, from The University of Manchester.
The Tabley estate is an extensive agricultural, residential and sporting estate in north east Cheshire which extends to 1,460 hectares (3,608 acres).
Tabley House and grounds, a Grade I listed mansion with 26 acres of Grade II listed parkland, will remain in the ownership of the university until its future status has been determined by the university.
The Tabley estate comprises 18 equipped farms, a further 18 lettings of farmland, three land parcels let as grazing, 52 residential properties, 13 commercial leases, the Cheshire Showground and a number of sporting agreements providing rights for shooting, fishing and boating.
