How we make decisions
Agenda, Minutes and Papers for Boards and Committees
The Crown Estate operates in the open market and much of the information recorded in the papers and minutes of boards and committees is of a commercial nature.
Commercial information of this type would often attract an exemption under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) or an exception under the Environmental Information Regulations 2004 (EIR). The sensitivity of this information varies over time and what may be commercially sensitive today may not be in the future.
Keeping these documents open to the public in constantly evolving circumstances would require a disproportionate administrative burden to keep the information up to date with redactions appropriately applied. For that reason, we will deal with requests for copies of these types of information on a case by case basis under FOIA or EIR as appropriate.
Requests for information should be made to the Transparency Manager at: enquiries@thecrownstate.co.uk
