Marine Power Systems (MPS) is taking offshore wind further by rethinking how the UK builds the structures and platforms it will need to support the clean energy transition.

Backed by The Crown Estate’s Supply Chain Accelerator, which aims to support the early-stage development of UK offshore wind supply chain projects, MPS is establishing the fabrication blueprint that will unlock industrial scale manufacture for deep water wind. One that can be replicated globally. Its goal? A streamlined, cost-effective factory model that’s optimised for global scale and local delivery.

Collaborating with a world-class fabrication partner to explore the full potential of automation, they’re designing a production process that maximises output, reduces costs, and supports rapid deployment. This is critical to meet the growing global demand for deep-water offshore wind and deliver at the pace the energy transition demands.

The feasibility study, due to be completed in early 2026, will lay the groundwork for a new kind of manufacturing hub - one that unlocks jobs, boosts supply chain resilience, and positions the UK as a leader in deep-water wind technology.

This represents a step-change in how deep-water offshore wind is delivered.
