The Crown Estate signs new all-day dining concept for St James’s

The Crown Estate has signed a new all-day concept for 34 Duke Street St James’s. The new brasserie is set to launch under the name Maison François.

Situated just down from the prominent corner of Jermyn Street and Duke Street St James’s, the new restaurant will be in the heart of the St James’s neighbourhood. It will be open from early morning until midnight, serving breakfast, brunch, lunch, tea and dinner. In addition to its all-day dining offer, Maison François will also have a wine bar and wine room, providing an exciting new experience for the St James’s community.

Oliver Smith, Head of St James’s at The Crown Estate, said: “I’m delighted that we are welcoming a restaurant back to this location following the redevelopment of The Marq. This is a crucial location, in the heart of St James’s and surrounded by a vibrant community of residents, businesses and galleries. Maison François is set to become a trusted destination for the St James’s neighbourhood and the broader West End.”

Maison François will become part of The Marq, the latest mixed-use development from The Crown Estate and the first new development to be delivered in St James’s since 2017. Designed by John McAslan & Partners with Rolfe Judd, The Marq totals 46,000 sq ft of flexible space, including six floors of modern office accommodation and up to 5,000 sq ft of prime retail space on Jermyn Street, which is offered as single or multiple units.

The Marq also brings new public artwork to St James’s. A three-piece artwork from Jacqueline Poncelet based on the tradition of craftsmanship and tailoring in St James’s has been integrated into the fabric of the building. It includes a corner stone piece which covers the full height of the building and bespoke bronze entry gates.
